Data were obtained from secondary sources in the form of 2023 biodata records and analyzed using descriptive statistics. The respondents consisted of 1,206 prospective servicemen from various entry levels, selected through stratified purposive sampling. Demographic variables included age, gender, education, domicile, family background, and previous selection experience. Findings in these research are: Among cadet candidates, six main themes emerged: “personal aspiration,” “serving the nation,” “family pride,” “leadership,” “world exploration,” and “employment need.” For non-commissioned officer candidates, male applicants preferred operational duties aboard warships or within the Marine Corps, whereas female applicants tended to choose administrative roles. Only family background showed a strong indication related to career choice. The selection ratio, especially among female NCO applicants, was low. The large gap between applicants and available quotas may lead to recurring applicants or repeated failures, potentially resulting in frustration and apathy. The integrated recruitment system of TNI (Army, Navy, and Air Force) for the officer level, introduced in 2024, might be expected to mitigate potential issues caused by the low selection ratio.
Mithra, Tri Budi Marwanto, Marcellinus Agung Satriyo Copyright (c) 2025 JURNAL PSIKOLOGI POSEIDON https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal-psikologi.hangtuah.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/182 Sun, 30 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Efektivitas acceptance commitment therapy untuk menurunkan tingkat depresi pada penderita gangguan depresi https://journal-psikologi.hangtuah.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/185
Depression is a mental disorder that significantly affects individuals’ quality of life and has shown an increasing prevalence in Indonesia. Managing depression requires a comprehensive and evidence-based approach, one of which is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT focuses on enhancing acceptance of negative thoughts and emotions while encouraging commitment to actions aligned with personal life values. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of ACT in reducing depression levels among individuals with moderate to severe depression at the Efata Recovery Home in Salatiga. The study employed a quasi-experimental method using a one-group pretest–posttest design involving seven participants. Depression levels were measured using the Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II) before and after the ACT intervention. Results of the paired sample t-test indicated a statistically significant reduction in depression levels (p < 0.05). The effect size analysis using Cohen’s d showed a moderate effect, suggesting that although ACT was statistically effective, its practical impact was moderate. These findings supported the evidence that ACT can serve as an effective psychological intervention for reducing depressive symptoms and provided a basis for applying acceptance-based therapies in mental health recovery setting in Indonesia.
Clove farmers who were able to manage their own psychological well-being influenced their work motivation, enabling them to achieve optimal harvest outcomes as expected. This study aimed to determine the relationship between family support and psychological well-being among clove farmers in Sidoasri Village. Participants were selected using a non-probability sampling method with purposive sampling. The subjects in this study were 100 clove farmers in Sidoasri Village, aged 20 to 68 years, who lived in the same household with their parents, family members, or relatives. Data were collected using a quantitative correlational method, with paper-based tests distributed directly from house to house. This method was used to examine the relationship between variables using scale-based measurements. The instruments employed were a psychological well-being scale modified from Juwita (2024) and a family support scale modified from Kasih (2021). Data were analyzed using Pearson’s product-moment correlation. The findings indicated that the hypothesis was accepted, meaning that there was a positive relationship between family support and psychological well-being among clove farmers in Sidoasri Village.
Putri Nurhikmah Asidiqiah, Dian Juliarti Bantam Copyright (c) 2025 JURNAL PSIKOLOGI POSEIDON https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal-psikologi.hangtuah.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/240 Sun, 30 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Pengaruh adiksi internet terhadap kecerdasan emosi pada siswa di SMK Muhammadiyah Sangasanga https://journal-psikologi.hangtuah.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/251
The growing phenomenon of internet use among students has brought both positive and negative impacts on their lives. One of the negative impacts that has begun to emerge is internet addiction, which is characterized by excessive use that interferes with social and emotional aspects. Students experiencing internet addiction are suspected to have lower emotional management abilities. This study aims to determine the influence of internet addiction on emotional intelligence among students at SMK Muhammadiyah Sangasanga. The research employed a quantitative method with simple linear regression analysis. The subjects consisted of 226 students selected through total sampling technique. The instruments used were the Internet Addiction Scale (18 items) and the Emotional Intelligence Scale (26 items). The results showed a significant negative effect of internet addiction on emotional intelligence, with a regression coefficient of -0.718 and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The R Square value of 0.430 indicates that 43% of the variance in emotional intelligence is influenced by internet addiction. Thus, the higher the level of internet addiction, the lower the level of emotional intelligence among students.
Putri Dwirahmadani, Desti Purnamasari Copyright (c) 2025 JURNAL PSIKOLOGI POSEIDON https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal-psikologi.hangtuah.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/251 Sun, 30 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Bersama orang tua atau tidak? This study aimed to examine whether residential status moderates the relationship between peer social support and adjustment among first-year college students. A moderation correlational design was employed using a survey method for data collection. A total of 194 first-year students at Hang Tuah University participated in the study through a saturated sampling technique. The instruments used were the Self-Adjustment Scale and the Peer Social Support Scale, both developed by the researcher, with a reliability coefficient of 0.887. Analysis using PROCESS Model 1 indicated that residential status did not moderate the relationship between peer social support and adjustment. This finding suggests that whether students live with their parents or not does not significantly alter the strength of the relationship between peer social support and adjustment in first-year college students.
Dimas Riztiardhana, Annisa Diyah Prameswari, Weni Endahing Warni Copyright (c) 2025 JURNAL PSIKOLOGI POSEIDON https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal-psikologi.hangtuah.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/192 Sun, 30 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Resiliensi akademik dan dukungan sosial teman sebaya sebagai prediktor academic adjustment pada mahasiswa baru fakultas kedokteran Universitas X Surabaya https://journal-psikologi.hangtuah.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/276
This study aimed to examine the relationship between academic resilience and peer social support with academic adjustment among first-year medical students at the Faculty of Medicine, University X Surabaya. The transition from high school to university often required substantial adaptation to changes in curriculum, learning methods, and academic expectations. These conditions posed challenges for new students to adjust to the dynamics of university life and the increasing complexity of academic demands. The study employed a quantitative correlational approach using a simple random sampling technique that involved 125 students from the 2024 cohort. Data were collected through Google Forms using three instruments: the Academic Resilience Scale with 18 valid items, the Peer Social Support Scale with 47 valid items, and the Academic adjustment Scale with 42 valid items. The results showed a significant relationship between academic resilience and peer social support with academic adjustment. Partially, academic resilience contributed, while peer social support contributed. These findings emphasized that students’ academic adjustment was influenced not only by individual resilience but also by positive social support within their peer relationships.
Nindya Rahmalia Afifah, Lutfi Arya, Andi Maulida Rahmania Copyright (c) 2025 JURNAL PSIKOLOGI POSEIDON https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://journal-psikologi.hangtuah.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/276 Sun, 30 Nov 2025 00:00:00 +0000
