The maritime work environment posed various challenges, requiring effective coping strategies. Self-efficacy, defined as an individual’s belief in their ability to overcome difficulties, and peer social support, including emotional and instrumental assistance, were assumed to contribute to managing work-related stress. A quantitative approach was employed, using a saturated sampling technique involving 72 Chief Engineers as respondents. Data were collected via Google Forms using validated scales: a 16-item self-efficacy scale (α = 0.898), a 21-item peer social support scale (α = 0.905), and a problem-focused coping scale (α = 0.940). The results showed that self-efficacy and peer social support significantly predicted problem-focused coping (R² = 0.915), accounting for 91.5% of the variance. Minor hypothesis tests revealed that self-efficacy contributed 84.6% and peer social support contributed 87.2% to problem-focused coping. These findings highlighted the importance of enhancing self-efficacy and social support networks to improve coping strategies in high-pressure maritime work environments.
2025-05-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 JURNAL PSIKOLOGI POSEIDON http://journal-psikologi.hangtuah.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/153 Stres ekonomi dan kesehatan mental kalangan pekerja 2025-02-12T11:30:46+00:00 Helsa Nasution helsanasution95@gmail.com M. This study aims to examine the impact of economic stress on workers' mental health through a comprehensive meta-analysis. Data were collected from various studies published over the past decade, focusing on economic stress, psychological distress, and coping strategies among employees. The results reveal a strong correlation between economic stress and mental health problems, with financial insecurity and job instability identified as key contributing factors. Furthermore, the study underscores the importance of effective coping strategies and social support in alleviating the adverse effects of economic stress. The findings provide practical insights for workplace interventions and inform policy recommendations.
2025-05-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 JURNAL PSIKOLOGI POSEIDON http://journal-psikologi.hangtuah.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/135 Stres akademik sebagai pemicu emotional eating pada mahasiswa 2025-03-03T03:10:59+00:00 Auliya Rahma Abadi 2207016115@student.walisongo.ac.id Septianingtyas 2207016089@student.walisongo.ac.id Dewi Khurun Aini dewi_khurun@walisongo.ac.id
Unhealthy eating behavior or emotional eating, is the body's way of responding to certain feelings through eating. Various situations such as stress, disappointment, and anxiety can trigger the production of the hormone cortisol, which then leads to the urge to eat. Students are vulnerable to stress due to academic activities and demands. This study aims to determine the relationship between academic stress and emotional eating among students. The research was conducted on 153 students aged 18-25 years. The measurement tools used were the Perception of Academic Stress and the Dutch Eating Behavior Questionnaire (DEBQ). The sampling technique in this study used purposive sampling. Data analysis was performed using the Pearson Correlation test with the assistance of IBM SPSS 26. The results showed a positive and relatively weak relationship between the two variables. Students need to manage academic stress so that it does not end up in emotional eating which has a negative physical and psychological impact.
2025-05-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 JURNAL PSIKOLOGI POSEIDON http://journal-psikologi.hangtuah.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/171 Intervensi kelompok coloring mandala untuk gangguan kecemasan menyeluruh di panti rehabilitasi ”b”, Jawa Tengah 2025-03-13T09:34:56+00:00 Angelica Pradita Adelide Lakaseru angelicapradita97@gmail.com
Anxiety is a feeling of fear that is unclear and not supported by a certain situation that if not handled properly, can interfere with several aspects of a person's life such as social life, work, and physical disorders. Coloring Mandala is one of the art therapy techniques that can reduce anxiety levels. This intervention aims to reduce anxiety levels through group therapy coloring mandala. This intervention was carried out in a group of 5 people who experienced anxiety symptoms (1 male and 4 females) for at least 1 month. Assessment of anxiety levels before and after the intervention used DASS 42-A and interviews. To see the difference in the results of the pre-test and post-test intervention, a paired sample T-test was conducted using JASP Software. Based on the results of the statistical test, it was obtained that the level of anxiety after the group intervention (M = 11.6; SD = 5.771) was significantly lower than before the group intervention (M = 26.6; SD = 7.701) t (4) = 7.798, p = 0.001. The interview results also showed changes before and after the intervention such as the emergence of positive thoughts, reduced physical complaints, and a positive atmosphere within the group. The results showed that the coloring mandala intervention could significantly reduce anxiety levels in adults at the "B" Rehabilitation Center who experienced generalized anxiety disorder.
2025-05-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 JURNAL PSIKOLOGI POSEIDON http://journal-psikologi.hangtuah.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/187 Ketika harapan menjadi tekanan: ekspektasi orang tua dan kecemasan performa 2025-03-18T07:29:32+00:00 Hoirunnurmalasari 202110515140@mhs.ubharajaya.ac.id Erik Saut H Hutahaean Hutahaean@gmail.com Ferdy Muzzamil Ferdy.Muzzamil@gmail.com
Parental expectations can affect psychological health such as anxiety, fear of failure and depression, with a focus on how parental expectations affect the anxiety levels of individuals undergoing physical training. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational method to analyze data collected from 155 respondents. The results showed a significant positive correlation between perceptions of parental expectations and performance anxiety. Higher parental expectations were associated with increased levels of anxiety in participants. This relationship suggests that pressure to meet parental expectations can lead to increased anxiety, which can ultimately affect participant performance during physical training. This study highlights the importance of understanding the psychological impact of parental expectations on individuals in stressful environments. Parents are expected to provide support and realistic expectations to help reduce anxiety and improve their children's performance outcomes.
2025-05-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 JURNAL PSIKOLOGI POSEIDON http://journal-psikologi.hangtuah.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/188 Antara organisasi dan akademik: Dinamika performa mahasiswa 2025-03-20T08:45:15+00:00 Desy Rohmahwati 202110515028@mhs.ubharajaya.ac.id Erik Saut H Hutahaean Hutahaean@gmail.com Ferdy Muzzamil Ferdy.Muzzamil@gmail.com
This study examines the relationship between organizational role conflict and academic performance among university students. This research uses a quantitative approach with correlational methods to analyze data collected from 111 active student respondents who participate in organizations. Organizational role conflict arises when students prioritize organizational responsibilities over academic tasks, leading to stress and decreased academic performance. The study identifies various factors contributing to role conflict, including time management issues, stress from organizational duties, and negative identification processes. The research highlights the impact of role conflict on academic performance, such as delayed task completion, reduced academic motivation, and lower grades. The findings suggest that effective time management, clear role expectations, and support systems are crucial for students to balance organizational and academic responsibilities. The study provides insights into the challenges faced by students in managing dual roles and offers recommendations for improving academic performance through better role management.
2025-05-31T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2025 JURNAL PSIKOLOGI POSEIDON
